(Sacramento) The members of the California State Assembly have elected John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles) to be the next Speaker of the Assembly. Current Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) took a few moments to comment on her tenure as Speaker just prior to the Assemblys vote. Here are her comments in this Assembly Access video. The timing of the transition from current Speaker Bass to Speaker-elect Pérez has not yet been finalized.
