(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez, chair of the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy, shared the following reaction to the Governor’s State of the State address:
The Governor presented a positive vision, outlining a number of ideas that prioritize economic growth and job creation to put Californians back to work. California has had several tough years, and our challenges aren't over yet, but the state is getting its fiscal house in order and the economy is slowly improving. I appreciate both the Governor's optimism, as well as his candor about the work ahead of us to address the remaining budget deficit and deliver an on-time budget to the people of California. Though I'm still reviewing the budget proposals, I support a balanced approach that will help keep teachers in the classroom, protect our most vulnerable, and ensure public safety.
