AB 2435— Indirect Costs—Helping Schools Apply for School Grants
This new law allows and requires the California Department of Education (CDE) and other state agencies to permit schools seeking grant monies to recover their administrative costs associated with running and administering school programs at a rate consistent with already established CDE “indirect cost rates.” By doing so, this new law facilitates and incentives more application for grants that provide educational programs.

AB 2374— Identify Theft Protection for Senior Citizens
This law requires credit agencies to waive the fee for senior citizens seeking to place an initial freeze on their credit report, a service that is typically sought by senior citizens to prevent and  deter identify theft, a crime that senior citizens are often time the targets of.

AB 1583— Merchandise Pallet Theft
Alleviates the theft of merchandise pallets and their illicit sale in the second-hand market by requiring proof of ownership and certain types of identification to be requested and furnished at the point of transaction.

AB 761—Optometrists
Allows optometrists to perform two specific eye examinations on patients in their own optometrist office, rather than sending the patient for testing to a remotely located clinical laboratory. By doing so, this new law expedites testing, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
