FRESNO- Assemblymember Henry T. Perea (D-Fresno) is pleased to announce more than $9 million from the State of California’s Park Development and Community Revitalization Program has been awarded to build parks in Fresno, Dinuba and Parlier.
The largest portion of the funds, $3.1 million, will be used to build Martin Ray Reilly Park in Southeast Fresno. Assemblymember Perea spearheaded plans to bring the park to the underserved neighborhood while on the Fresno City Council and recently wrote a letter to the State Parks Department in support of the funds.
“This is an incredible opportunity for the people of Southeast Fresno,” Assemblymember Perea said. “Their neighborhood has been left behind time and time again and I’m glad they are finally getting the funds they need.”
