Now Accepting California Peace Award Nominations

NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: Monday, July 25, 2011

California State Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo invites you to submit a nomination to honor citizens that stands for peace in our community for the 28th Assembly District's 2011 California Peace Awards.

Each nominee should be a person who has, over the past year, made a significant contribution to promote peace in his/ her community with notable accomplishments and has not previously been recognized for their contribution. One nominee will be named the 28th Assembly District's California Peace Promoter of the Year and honored at a ceremony that will take place Tuesday, August 2, 2011.

Please feel free include a biography as well as letters of recommendation and/or newspaper articles that support your nominee.

The criteria for the nominees are as follows:

  • Must live in the 28th district. Please go to www.assembly.ca.gov and click on "Find my district" to confirm eligibility.
  • Not previously honored as California Peace Promoter of the Year.
  • Shown a strong track record of volunteerism or, if a paid employee, gone above and beyond their regular duties.
