Statement on Governor Signing Alejo’s First Bill

(SACRAMENTO) - Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo released the following statement in response to the Governor’s signing of AB 902.

Today, Governor Brown did a great thing for county governments by signing my first bill, AB 902, into law. This simple measure corrects an injustice that left counties financially responsible whenever someone goes over five years without paying property taxes. Because of this law, the burden will now fall on the delinquent taxpayers instead of responsible people who play by the rules.

A copy of AB 902 can be found here.

Luis Alejo represents the 28th District in the California State Assembly, which consists of San Benito County, the Salinas Valley, North Monterey County, South Santa Clara County and the city of Watsonville.
