District Office Staff:
JEREMY DENNIS, District Director
Jeremy became the District Director for Assemblyman Gordon in December 2010. Prior to joining the staff, he worked as a Budget Analyst for the County Manager's Office in the County of San Mateo. He has also served as the Chief of Staff for (then) Supervisor Rich Gordon, the District Director for Assemblyman Louis J. Papan, and served on the staffs of San Francisco Supervisor Barbara Kaufman and Senator Dianne Feinstein. Jeremy graduated from the University of California, Davis with degrees in US History and Political Science, and received his Master of Science in Regional and Urban Planning from the London School of Economics.

MARGOT GRANT, Communications Director
Margot joined the District Office when Assemblyman Gordon took office in December 2010. Prior to joining the staff, Margot worked in the County Manager's Office for the County of San Mateo as the 2010 Census Coordinator. Margot graduated from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania and majored in International Relations.

JOEY VAUGHAN, Field Representative
Joey joined the District Office as Field Representative in December 2010. Joey directed field operations for the 2010 Democratic Party campaigns in Santa Clara County. He completed his university coursework in Denmark in 2008 majoring in Global Communication Studies. Prior to working in the State Legislature he worked for an international economic development non-profit and was active in ballot initiative campaigns such as No on Prop 8 and No on Prop 23.

ANNA KO, Field Representative
Anna joined the District Office as Field Representative in January 2011. She previously worked as a Field Representative for Assemblyman Ira Ruskin. Prior to being employed by the State Assembly, she worked for two years at a local civil law practice while interning with Assemblyman Paul Fong's office. Anna received her BA in Linguistics and Spanish from University of California, Davis. While pursuing her bachelor's degree she served in a student position with the Office of Attorney General.

Capitol Office Staff:
HARRY ERMOIAN, Capitol Director
Harry became the Capitol Director for Assemblyman Gordon in December 2010. Prior to joining the staff, Harry served as Chief of Staff to former Assemblymember Noreen Evans and Capitol Director to former Assemblymember John Laird. He also served as Counsel to the Assembly Public Safety Committee and in several capacities with former Assemblymember Fred Keeley. Harry graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science, and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Davis.

LUCAS FRERICHS, Legislative Director
Lucas joined the Capitol Office as Legislative Director in January 2011. Lucas staffs Assemblyman Gordon on Budget Subcommittee #3, which oversees natural resources issues. Prior to joining the staff, he worked for several members of the Legislature, including Assemblymembers Wes Chesbro, Mark DeSaulnier, and Loni Hancock. Lucas also previously worked for the League of California Cities. Additionally, he serves on the City Council for the City of Davis and on a variety of non-profit boards in Yolo County. Lucas graduated from California State University Sacramento with a degree in Government.

ANDREW BERTHELSEN, Senior Assistant
Andrew joined the Capitol Office as Senior Assistant when Assemblyman Gordon took office in December 2010. He staffs the Assemblyman on the Local Government Committee. Prior to joining the staff, he served as Senior Legislative Aide to (then) Supervisor Rich Gordon. Andrew graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Political Science.

CHRISTIN HEMANN, Legislative Assistant/Scheduler
Christin joined the Capitol Office as Legislative Aide and Scheduler in January 2011. Prior to joining the staff Christin worked for Aging Services of California advocating on policy issues relating to older adults. Christin previously worked in the Legislature for Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson, Assemblymember Judy Chu, and for the Consumer Attorneys of California. In her spare time, Christin served on both the Sacramento County Adult and Aging Commission and the Human Services Coordinating Council. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication from California State University Sacramento, and is a candidate for a Master's degree in Gerontology.

ELLEN HOU, Legislative Assistant
Ellen joined the Capitol Office as a legislative fellow in December 2011 as part of the Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program. Prior to her fellowship, Ellen interned for Congresswoman Judy Chu at her District Office and worked at the non-profit, CAUSE (Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment). While at CAUSE, she testified on behalf of the organization at the Los Angeles County Redistricting Hearing and helped plan the annual Political Institute event, which focused on the redistricting plans and its impact on the Asian American community. Ellen graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Political Science.

ANGELA PONTES, Assembly Fellow
Angela joined the Capitol Office a legislative fellow in December 2012, as part of the Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program. Prior to joining the staff, Angela studied and lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she completed a thesis research project on the nutritional behavior of women diagnosed with Type II Diabetes living in the Manguinhos favela. She also worked for the Pan American Health Organization, assisting with the Leaders in International Health Program, and interned in the district office of Congresswoman Doris Matsui. Angela graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in International Health and a minor in Spanish Language.

LGBT Caucus Staff:
WILLIAM KIM, LGBT Caucus Consultant
William joined the Capitol Office in September 2012 after serving as a legislative fellow to Assemblymember Fiona Ma. William has previously worked in HIV/AIDS prevention and education, serving as an assistant to a local planning body that allocates federal Ryan White funds to HIV/AIDS care in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties. William graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in ethnic studies.
