Assemblyman Rich Gordon's Statement on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals' Ruling on Proposition 8 Featured

Sacramento - Assemblyman Rich Gordon (Menlo Park), who serves as the LGBT Caucus Chair, issued the following statement in response to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional:

"Today marks a historic day for gay rights history in the State of California. As one of the 18,000 same-sex couples who were married in that short window of opportunity, I find today’s ruling a milestone in the fight for equality and civil rights. While we are well aware that this fight is not over and that an appeal to this ruling is inevitable, I feel strongly that marriage equality will ultimately be achieved for all."
