California needs new jobs ASAP—says Buchanan

(Elk Grove, CA)—Assemblymember Joan Buchanan (D-Elk Grove) continues her effort to bring jobs to the 15th Assembly District by hosting an Employment Fair in Elk Grove on Wednesday, August 4th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Pavillion at Elk Grove Regional Park.

The June 2010 unemployment numbers show an unemployment rate of 10.3% for Elk Grove.   “Putting Californians back to work is my top priority in the Assembly,” Buchanan said. “This fair provides an opportunity to connect job-seekers with prospective employers.”

Over 30 different businesses throughout the Sacramento region will be available at the fair to discuss job openings. There also will be job training resources, including resume feedback, technical training programs, and veteran’s employment assistance.

“The sooner people can get back to work, the quicker our economy will recover,” continued Buchanan.  “Events like this help both our local and state economies.”

The fair is open to the public.
