CLEAN ENERGY JOBS INITIATIVE
Assemblymember Skinner, Assembly Speaker John Pérez, Senate Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, and other legislators, business and labor leaders gather to announce a Clean Energy Jobs Initiative to help stimulate California's economy.
Less Talk, More Action—Nancy participates in Pleasant Hill Community Service Day, the 5th annual community wide event involving hundreds of local families working on many different clean-up and other projects at schools, parks, neighborhoods, and creeks.
Skinner joined Emeryville for Coastal Clean Up Day. Approximately 130 participants were able to collect 500 lbs. of garbage and 500 lbs. of recyclables from the Emeryville shoreline. This wouldn't have been possible without the support of the following local businesses: Cocina Poblana, Trader Vic's, Watergate Market, Peet's Coffee & Tea Semifreddi's, Folkmanis Puppets, Hong Kong East Ocean, Bucci's, Townhouse Bar & Grill, Rudy's Can't Fail Café, and Ruby's Café.

Assembly District 14—2009 Woman of the Year Award went to Lafayette resident Louise Harvey Clark. Clark is best known for the hillside crosses overlooking Highway 24 that memorialize each U.S. soldier killed in the Iraq War. Clark has a long history of service to the community. She was a co-founder of the Lafayette Nursery School and served as its first President of the board. She has worked for two decades on senior services and currently serves as President of the Lafayette Senior Recreation Center. In 2008, Clark received the Peace Award from the Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Center.
City of Richmond's 2nd Annual International Women's Day Celebration at Lovonya DeJean Middle School.
Nancy joined the Richmond Community Redevelopment Agency and the City of Richmond Parks and Recreation Department to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Nevin Park and Community Center.
