Assemblymember Huber Calls on CDCR To Protect Public Safety as Early Release of Prisoners Begins
(Sacramento) - Assemblymembers Alyson Huber (D-El Dorado Hills) and Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) have joined Crime Victims United and law enforcement officials to call on the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to implement common-sense public safety protections as tens of thousands of prisoners begin to be set free early, many without parole supervision and with no rehabilitation. Lieu and Huber announced the introduction of Assembly Bill 1678 to mandate public safety protections. Public safety must be our number one priority, said Assemblymember Huber. Keeping Meth Dealers Off California Streets
(Sacramento) – California State Assemblymember Alyson Huber (D-El Dorado Hills) has written new legislation to crack down on methamphetamine dealers. Assembly Bill 640, which has already been approved by the Assembly Public safety Committee, will impose a mandatory minimum sentence on meth dealers. Current law has mandatory minimum sentences for the sellers of cocaine, heroin and PCP but not methamphetamine. Assemblymember Huber says meth is the largest drug problem in California and putting meth dealers behind bars must be a top priority. Here’s more in this Assembly Web Report.
