Legislation

AB 1181 - This bill was signed by the Governor into law on May 7, 2010. The new law will provide greater transparency in government by lowering the threshold for the exemption some state candidates, committees, slate mailing organizations and lobbying entities have from the law requiring documents filed with the Secretary of State to be filed electronically.

AB 1659 - seeks to identify and eliminate waste, duplication, and inefficiency in government agencies by creating the Joint Sunset Review Committee within the Legislature.

AB 2130 - serves as the implementation bill for the Joint Sunset Review Committee created in AB 1659 (Huber) by defining which government entities will be subject to the Committee’s review over a fifteen year rotating cycle. AB 2130 is contingent on the passage of AB 1659.
