SACRAMENTO – February is American Heart Month and Dr. Pan discusses healthy and fun ways to prevent heart disease, the number one cause of death worldwide.
SACRAMENTO – January is Cervical Health Awareness Month and Dr. Pan informs listeners about preventative steps, including HPV vaccinations, that they can take to guard against cervical cancer.
SACRAMENTO – This December, which is Safe Toys and Gifts Month, Dr. Pan gives tips on toy safety that can help make sure children aren't injured by the gifts they receive during the holiday season. (1:12)
SACRAMENTO – Dr. Pan discusses Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November and says "...it's up to all of us to help those who haven't finally quit smoking give up this deadly habit." (1:17)
SACRAMENTO – Dr. Pan discusses health factors that can be controlled to lower the risk of breast cancer as Americans recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As an Assemblymember for Sacramento, Dr. Pan tells listeners that "there are several ways to get involved in the fight against breast cancer in our region." (1:37)
SACRAMENTO – Dr. Pan says September is Newborn Screening Awareness Month and that a screening for fatal bubble boy disease would be available for all California newborns under legislation he has proposed. (1:06)
SACRAMENTO – Dr. Pan discusses why it is important that children get properly vaccinated before returning to school. With 9000 Californians catching whooping cough last year, families must now provide proof of whooping cough vaccination for their middle and high school students to continue to attend school. (1:33)
SACRAMENTO – Dr. Richard Pan tells listeners where they can find free kid’s life jackets on the river as part of the Kids Don’t Float program sponsored by the American River Parkway Foundation. With the American and Sacramento rivers extra dangerous this year, the program will help river safety efforts of area firefighters, who rescued over 60 swimmers and rafters in June. To support firefighters, Dr. Pan has introduced AB 678, which will bring up to $90 million in federal funding for firefighters. (1:43)
