Dear Constituents of the Second Assembly District,

Do you need help resolving a conflict with an agency of state government, want to give me your opinion on a bill or issue facing the Legislature, have an idea for new legislation or want to let me know about an event in the district?

Please call or drop by one of my district offices. The staff in these offices is there to assist you. However, since it is the job of my district staff to represent me in the community, it's probably a good idea to call before stopping by.

Geographically, the First Assembly District is one of California's largest legislative districts, encompassing Northern and Western Sonoma County and all of Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties. I have three district offices in Santa Rosa, Ukiah and Eureka.

One of the most important services my district staff performs for constituents is helping you connect and resolve differences with state government. We can serve as your advocate if you are having a problem with unemployment, the DMV, Franchise Tax Board, Medi-Cal or just about any other state agency.

For help with these types of issues, please call Gail Moss at (707) 576-2526. Gail is the First Assembly District's constituent caseworker specialist; she can help you no matter where you live in the district.

Each district office is staffed with a field representative. Field representatives serve as liaisons between the communities they serve and the Legislature, and are a direct conduit to me. Call one of my field representatives if you want to let me know how you feel about an issue or a bill the Legislature is considering, if you have an idea for a bill, or if you just want to talk about an issue in the community where you live. My field representatives also schedule my time in the district. If you are part of an organization or group putting on an event you would like me to attend, or if you would like to arrange a tour of your facility or business, call one of my field representatives.

Maddy Hirshfield serves as my director for the entire district and is the field representative for Sonoma County from the Santa Rosa District Office. She can be reached at (707) 576-2526.
