Committees

Chair, Natural Resources Committee
The primary jurisdiction of this committee includes air quality, climate change, energy efficiency, renewable energy, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), coastal protection, forestry, land conservation, oil spills, solid waste and recycling.

Chair, Joint Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture
This is a joint committee of the Assembly and Senate that takes input from Californians involved in fisheries on how to protect and restore this valuable natural resource.

Chair, Select Committee on Wine
This is an informational committee that serves as a liaison for Californians involved in producing wine to communicate with the Legislature on issues affecting the industry.

Chair, Select Committee on Disabilities
This committee advocates for the rights and dignity of all people with disabilities by conducting informational hearings, researching current topics and serving as a resource for the Assembly and others.


Member, Budget Committee
This is the Assembly's primary oversight committee on the state's budget.

Member, Budget Sub Committee 1, Health and Human Services
This is a subcommittee of the Budget Committee that has jurisdiction over health and human services issues.

Member, Health Committee
This committee deals with health care, health insurance, Medi-Cal and other public health care programs, mental health licensing of health and health-related professionals, and long term health care facilities.

Member, Governmental Organization
The primary jurisdictions of this committee are public records, open meetings laws, natural disasters (this is shared with the Housing and Community Development Committee and Local Government Committee), tobacco products and horseracing.
